WINEMAKING TRADITION

WINERY

For more than two decades, the Descalzo Matos family has demonstrated its passion for viticulture and quality wine. A wine that comes from 104 hectares of vineyards planted on trellises and spread between two Valladolid municipalities with a great winemaking tradition: Villaverde de Medina and Nava del Rey, where the five brothers who have given life to a “dream” are from: Bodegas La Granadilla.

A dream that came to life in 2015 when the five Descalzo Matos siblings (Luis Alfonso, Roberto, Ana, David and Miguel) built a winery in which they produced the first production of a wine they christened ‘La Granadilla’, in honour of the place where it is located, in the heart of the Rueda Designation of Origin.

The winery combines state-of-the-art technology with traditional craftsmanship to create its Dominio de la Granadilla Verdejo and Sauvignon wines.
